Alex Stewart

Managing Director / Stroke Technician / Teacher

I’m Alex, the owner and founder of Elites Swimming. I was a competitive swimmer to a high level, becoming Essex County champion three consecutive years in a row and then progressing on to competing at a regional and national level. I was lucky enough to be hand-picked to enter on to an advanced coaching program where I was mentored and monitored for two years by members of the England talent team. I went on to help produce many county, regional and national level swimmers. Also specialising in disability swimming, I have been able to help train up and develop swimmers that have gone on to represent the country abroad in international competitions. My love for competition swimming drove me to build my dream swim school which meets the needs of all abilities from nervous beginners to international stars.

Robert Baldock

Centre Manager / Teacher

I am a swimming teacher working alongside Alex. I enjoy teaching as I am able to pass on my own experiences whilst having fun at the same time. From a young age, I was able to swim and once I had gained all badges possible wanted to carry on.  It is then I found water polo, a very fast paced game.  My coach suggested I join a Basildon Swimming Club.  My time was split between the club and water polo.  The swimming at the club took me to another level improving both stroke and stamina.  I really enjoyed Gala days.  Water polo I really enjoyed for which I played for both Basildon and Essex.
