About Elites Swimming & Our Specialist Essex Swim Schools

Finding the right swimming school is about more than choosing the nearest pool. You may be looking for a safe first lesson for your child, support for a nervous adult learner, specialist SEN swimming, competitive technique coaching, or a swim school that genuinely understands progression.

At our Essex swim schools, we provide swimming lessons for all ages and abilities, from nervous beginners to international-level swimmers. Our approach is built around technical correction, confidence, enjoyment and long-term development, helping every swimmer become safer, stronger and more efficient in the water.

Why Elites Swimming Was Created

Elites Swimming was created from a genuine love of swimming and a clear vision for something better.

Our founder, Alex, was a competitive swimmer before moving into coaching and teaching. After being mentored by the England Talent team for two years, Alex gained valuable insight into swimmer development, coaching standards and the importance of technical detail.

While working within swimming clubs across Essex, Alex became frustrated by the lack of technical correction given to swimmers, especially at younger ages. The belief behind Elites Swimming is simple: if swimmers learn correct technique early, they build stronger habits, better muscle memory and far greater progression over time.

That vision became a swim school focused on advanced swimming technique, enjoyment, confidence and a pathway for swimmers who may wish to move into competitive swimming.

What We Provide For Swimmers

We provide a wide range of aquatic lessons and specialist coaching for children, adults, schools, SEN swimmers, triathletes and competitive swimmers.

Our services include children’s group swimming lessons, adult lessons, private coaching, SEN swimming support, school educational swimming lessons, Rookie Lifesaving, water polo, triathlete training, advanced video stroke analysis and competition workshops.

We support nervous beginners taking their first steps in the water, confident swimmers looking to improve, and elite athletes who want detailed technical feedback to sharpen performance.

Elites Swimming is not built around a standard, off-the-shelf teaching model. We run our own bespoke swimming programme, developed to introduce more advanced skills at younger ages, reduce future fear and support faster, more confident progression.

Our team is made up of ex-competitive swimmers who understand the sport from experience. That background helps us teach with passion, precision and a strong focus on getting the best from every swimmer.

We also have exclusive use of multiple pools across the county and welcome more than 1,000 swimmers each week across our group classes.

What Makes Our Swim School Different

Discover Our Advanced Swimming Stroke Technique Facility in Essex

We also operate a state-of-the-art endless pool facility, described as one of the most advanced stroke technique facilities in Essex.

Swimmers from more than 40 swimming clubs across the UK have visited us for video analysis, including athletes competing for Team GB in swimming and triathlon.

Using multiple camera angles and instant feedback, we can analyse a swimmer’s stroke in detail and identify the improvements needed to become more streamlined, efficient and powerful in the water.

This facility is also ideal for SEN swimmers and nervous adult beginners because each swimmer has the entire space to themselves, reducing distractions and creating a calm, controlled learning environment.

Competition Workshops Built Around Skills Other Providers Miss

Through our experience in swimming clubs, we saw that race pace skills such as racing starts, tumble turns and finishes were often overlooked.

That is why we developed advanced competition workshops using wireless underwater video cameras to pinpoint exactly where swimmers can improve. These workshops are delivered on a personal 1-to-1 level and are designed for swimmers who want detailed, practical feedback that can make a real difference to race performance.

To our knowledge, no other company in the UK offers workshops of this calibre in this way.

Supporting Schools, SEN Swimmers & The Local Community

At Elites Swimming, we are proud to work in partnership with local primary schools to deliver educational swimming lessons. Independent swim schools rarely provide this service, with schools often relying on larger corporate leisure centres instead.

One school we work with has achieved outstanding success in county school competitions. With training and support from our coaching team, they have remained undefeated county champions for eight consecutive years, something that had not been achieved before our involvement.

We also want to expand our work with trusts supporting children with SEN, providing safe, calm and confidence-building swimming opportunities in a controlled environment.

Our Mission Is To Help Every Swimmer Progress With Confidence

Our mission is to provide swimming lessons and specialist coaching that go further than basic water skills.

We are here to help swimmers of all ages and abilities feel confident, enjoy the water and develop the correct technique needed for long-term progress. Whether someone is learning to swim for the first time, preparing for school swimming, joining water polo, training for a triathlon or chasing competitive goals, we want them to feel supported, understood and inspired.

The Values Behind Elites Swimming

From One Coaching Dream To an Established Independent Swim School

Elites Swimming began with a clear ambition: to build a swim school that offered more than standard lessons.

Our founder moved from working long days as a self-employed swimming teacher across several companies to gradually building Elites Swimming from scratch. That meant taking risks, sacrificing stability and growing the business one step at a time.

Today, Elites Swimming is a full-time, established independent swim school with a strong reputation, multiple pool locations, specialist facilities, more than 1,000 swimmers attending weekly group classes and swimmers travelling from across the UK for advanced coaching.

Meet The People Behind Elites Swimming

Elites Swimming is led by our founder, Alex, with competitive swimming experience, coaching experience and two years of mentoring from the England Talent team.

Our teaching team is made up of ex-competitive swimmers who understand what it takes to build strong technique, confidence and lasting progression in the water.

Our Future Vision

Our ambition is to continue expanding Elites Swimming by securing more pools further afield and supporting more communities.

We want to work with more schools, provide more educational swimming lessons, offer extra-curricular lessons to local families and build partnerships with trusts that support children with SEN.

The long-term vision is to make specialist, confidence-building, technique-led swimming available to more people in more places.
